5^th Youth Big-Concert "Let's Sing in Jurmala!"

with participation of professional jazz musicians

on 31^st May 2009 at 18.00 in Dzintari Concert Hall

Culture House Majori, and society „Horna biedriba" with support of Jurmala City Council on 31^st May arrange already 5^th Youth Big-Concert "Let's Sing in Jurmala!" The program includes song arrangements for choirs and soloists of the world's most popular, as well as Latvian temporary composers.

Participant line-up:  18 youth choirs from all parts of Latvia;

                                 vocal jazz group "Pozitīivs" (Valmiera)

Choirs will be accompanied by one of the leading jazz bands in Latvia "Riga Groove Electro":

Deniss  Paskevichss - sax, flute, bass clarinet, Madars Kalninsh - piano, Norberts Skraucis - el. bass, Kaspars Grigalis - drums.

            New vocalists: Ieva Sutugova, Elina Champere, Dace Vaishla.

            Special guest of the concert this year will be world known James "Plookie" Werts (guitar, vocal, USA, Estonia).

PROGRAM:

            1^st part:

Compositions by Anders Edenroth, R.Pauls, I.Kalnins, I.Purmaliete, H.Zarins, Kurt Weil, George Weiss, Sting, "Queen".

            2^nd part:

"Riga Groove Electro," James "Plookie" Werts and other solo artists.

Concert will be concluded by composition of G.David Weiss un B. Thiele "What a Wonderful World" (performed by all participants of the concert - choirs, jazz musicians and vocalists).

The concert will be led by an actor Normunds Berzs.

The idea of this concert belongs to choir conductor and artistic manager Inara Freimane.
